USGS published checklist for tsunami deposits
As Jens in the recently S-net blog reported, the USGS recently published a report that to help identify tsunami deposits:
Peters, Robert, and Jaffe, Bruce E. (2010): Identification of tsunami deposits in the geologic record, developing criteria using recent tsunami deposits. U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 2010-1239, 39 p. http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2010/1239/ .
tsunamis are indeed in the context of the "Chiemgau impact event" mentioned, they should have rolled over the Tüttensee and jointly responsible for the so-called 'disaster film' to be. Apart from the aforementioned mystery of the missing in the tsunami sediments Chiemsee moors, speak now of some of the sedimentological point of view of Peters et al. criteria against this hypothesis about the lack of sharp contact erosion, lack of normal grading or missing, looking landward, thinning, etc..
